Basic Terms and Structure

Spreadsheets have a grid structure of rows and columns that make up individual cells. Each cell has a unique reference based on its column letter and row number. Formulas can be entered into cells starting with an equal sign and will automatically calculate when entered. Data can be organized and visualized through sorting, filtering, and creating charts.

Formula Formulae can also be viewed and edited here in the formula bar. Start with = then Formula create the formula When you press Enter, the formula will automatically be calculated. What do you think the answer will be?
Uses and Structure The data can be displayed in different methods; using the chart wizard The data can be sorted in alphabetical or numerical order – using the AZ icons By dragging the fill handle, you can copy and paste the formula into other cells See the fill handle (black square in bottom right of cell)
