Be Careful what you Plot for<br />December 17, 2009<br />Humanities 30<br />Mr. Kabachia <br />There once was a prince of Denmark,<br />Whose father was as dead as a doorknob.<br />He was very sad,<br />Also very mad<br />Because the father by the uncle was robbed.<br />The Prince moped around in gloom,<br />Until he was alone in a room.<br />When a ghost appeared,<br />He had no fear<br />Because the ghost presented good news.<br />“I am thy father’s spirit,<br />Art thou to revenge, now hear it.<br />Murderer most foul<br />Now wears my crown!<br />Avenge me, dear prince, now swear it!”<br />By these words the prince did excite,<br />Because now he had a purpose in life.<br />He then acted crazy<br />To make eyes hazy,<br />So the king would be none the wise.<br />Now to catch the conscience of the King,<br />The Prince said “the play is the thing!”<br />The Murder of Gonzago<br />And so the story goes,<br />That the play made the murderer come clean.<br />Now the King caught a whiff of the plot,<br />And then he knew that he aught<br />To send his step-son<br />To England at once<br />For the Prince to be killed and forgot.<br />The Prince, in turn, found out,<br />What his trip was all about.<br />A miracle then came<br />To save the Dane<br />By pirates the Prince was caught.<br />The King heard of the Prince’s return,<br />And decided the tables were to turn.<br />He devised a plan,<br />The scheme was grand,<br />The Prince would be fed to the worms.<br />But the King’s plan went array,<br />When the Queen drank the poisoned wine.<br />The men were slain,<br />By the havoc they made.<br />In the end, the royal family was dead.<br />
