This document summarizes experiences and perspectives on using Second Life for teaching and education. It shares anecdotes from educators on how students were able to teach each other concepts in Second Life. It also discusses the immediacy and richness of interaction that Second Life allows for conversations and bouncing ideas compared to a one-dimensional text format. However, one educator advises others that learning to use Second Life is time consuming and may not be valued as part of university workload, so to obtain tenure first before investing significant time into it.
