Title: Blame Game
General Purpose: To persuade
Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience of the need to stop blaming others and take control of their
lives.
INTRODUCTION
I. Buffer: A man can fail many times but he isn’t a failure until he blames somebody else for it.
The blame game is a fool’s game. Responsibility and accountability for our actions are badly
needed to offset the stresses and strains of present-day living.
II. We are so pressured by our work, relationships and routine that we keep ending up in chaotic
situations. The most convenient way out is ‘put the blame on others’ which makes the situation
worse. We- as a society need to get rid of the ‘victim’s mentality and take charge of our doings.
BODY
III. Problems
A. Inaction and unhappiness
B. Not realizing your abilities and self-worth
C. Self-defeating behavior pattern
IV. Solutions
A. No whining, complaining, accusing or excusing
B. Take responsibility for your actions
C. Accept and cope with problems
V. Benefits of Solutions
A. Mental and spiritual growth
B. Instant happiness, confidence and courage to make things happen
C. Boosts your self esteem
CONCLUSION
VI. The more we are focused on the blame game, the longer we prolong our current situation.
Unhappiness and crankiness take over our skills and aptitude. Staying in the blame game
undermines our sense of self-worth and in the end we think of ourselves as losers and give up.
VII. No amount of whining and complaining can make our lives easy. When we take actions to
improve the areas of our lives we’re not happy with, all the progress and all the success belongs
to us. Learning how to accept things the right way will certainly help us avoid blaming others.
VIII. I urge you to accept my proposal.
