 The film project began as a story initially titled ‘High Jump’. The
director and the crew initiated an intense search for the lead and
at last they picked him from Shiamak Davar’s Summer Funk
sessions.

the upcoming bollywood flick, X. But she walked out of it even

would be an adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens novel, Y.

◦ Kishore Kumar apparently made X, hoping it would fail
commercially. He wanted to show losses in his income, and thus
avoid paying a huge income tax to the authorities. So he made
two films – Lookochuri (Bengali) and X, and waited eagerly for
them to collapse.
◦ However, both surprisingly went on to become box-office
successes. Kumar was so disgusted with this that he gave X and
all its rights to his secretary Anoop Sharma, who retained the
copyright. The income tax case on Kishore Kumar was not solved
even after forty years. X?

 Man, Woman and Child is a novel by Erich Segal. It
details the lives of a couple Robert and Sheila Beckwith
and their daughters Jessica and Paula. Erich Segal
adapted his novel into a screenplay and the film was
released into theatres in 1983.
 Interestingly, the bollywood adaptation of this novel, X,
was also released in the same year. Actually X was a
remake of the Malayalam film Olangal which was an
adaptation of this Erich Segal novel. X received five
Filmfare Awards and was highly acclaimed. Give me X.

◦ X introduced the fringe hairstlye in Indian film industry in her first film Love in Simla. R. K.
Nayyar, director of the film and her future husband, suggested the fringe style in order to
make her forehead look narrower. X says, "They tried to stick a strip near the hair-line, but it
didn’t work out." Nayyar then suggested she go for the fringe style as was then sported by
the Hollywood actress Audrey Hepburn.The fringe soon became popular as a fashion fad in
the 1960s.
◦ the Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone sported the same fringe in her films Om Shanti
Om (2007) and Chandni Chowk To China (2009).
◦ X is also credited for bringing into fashion tight chudidar-kurta . In a song sequence of "Phir
Milenge Chalte Chalte" for the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), actress Bipasha
Basu dressed herself in a white chudidar-kurta and also frolicked with the famous fringe as a
tribute to X.

◦ X was born as Asrar ul Hassan Khan in a Tarin Pashtun family, in Sultanpur, Uttar
Pradesh . He was a struggling Hakim when he happened to recite one of
his ghazals at a mushaira in Sultanpur. The ghazal was a hit with the audience
and X decided to drop his fledgling medical practice and began writing poetry
seriously. Soon he was a 'regular' at mushairas and a "shagird" . In 1945, X
visited Bombay to attend a mushaira at the Saboo Siddique Institute. Film
producer A R Kardar then took him to music composer Naushad who put the
young writer to test. He gave X a tune and asked him to write something in the
same metre, and X wrote Jab Usne Gesu Bikhraye, Badal Aaye Jhoom Ke....
Naushad liked what he wrote and X was signed on as the lyricist of the film Shah
Jehan (1946). The songs of the film became so popular that K.L.
Sahgal wanted Jab Dil Hi Toot Gaya to be played at his funeral.

The Devotion of Suspect X is a 2005 novel by Keigo
Higashino, the third in his Detective Galileo series
and is his most acclaimed work so far. The novel
deals with complex relationship criteria followed by
a mysterious murder. This Japanese novel came into
news in India after the release of the movie X this
year. Ekta Kapoor, who has bought the rights of the
novel, claimed that X is allegedly based on this
novel. Though X is a Hindi remake, she blamed the
original filmmaker of breaching copyrights. But the
filmmaker rejected her claim. Which critically
acclaimed movie are we talking about?

animated Bollywood film directed by Vishal Sonawane and
Tarun Mansukhani and co-produced by Dharma
Productions and Prana Studios. The voice-over for the

Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Ritesh Deshmukh.

give me a name to match with the names of my daughters Kumkum and
Kavita.”

debut film. She quoted in an interview about how she got her debut film,
""Ravi Shankar was new, he had not done music for anybody. It was Zohra
Segal's debut. Uma Anand (Chetan's wife) was with us in college — we were
together. Chetan had been teaching at The Doon School and got to me
through my brother.".

◦ The only other actor in the film is Nargis Dutt in the final
scene.

Gandhi and was banned by the Indian Government during the Emergency
period and all prints were confiscated .

Emergency had already been declared.

film, when writers Gulshan Nanda Madhusudan Kalelkar visited his office.

by the interval and a new hero was to step in. The same evening, whille X
was being cancelled, Nanda recited a story of Kati Patang to Samanta,
which he instantly liked, so for the next couple of hours they first rewrote
the second half of X, and subsequently went on to discuss, Kati Patang.

great difficulty as it demanded great vocal strengths with long notes.
Kishore Kumar had his version recorded. Till date his version is more

is considered as the most beautiful song sung by Kishore Da. We can
