Basic Tactics for Boosting SEO: • Decide what keywords and phrases your users will be searching on. • Make sure these keywords and phrases appear in your content and titles for the overall site and for each page. • Write good content! • Include the keywords in your header meta tags (see Julie McCoy, So You Think You Can Write? pg 38; Google how to do it for your specific platform: Wix, WordPress, etc.) • Link your pages to each other by using good, specific anchor text (text that visitors can click on to be taken to a different page) to interlink your pages – good anchor text would be not something generic like “this link,” but “our feature on green smoothies.” • Add alt text to your images.
- 6. • Wix has its own set of easy-to-use SEO tools – but you need to actually USE them. • Use the Wix SEO Wiz (search for that phrase on the Wix Blog, or go to this link: https://www.wix.com/blog/2017/05/rank- higher-on-google-wix-seo-wiz/). • Create titles and descriptions for each page that incorporate keywords and likely search phrases.
