The Brown Refugee Youth Tutoring and Enrichment Program provides literacy support and outdoor education to refugee youth in Providence, Rhode Island during the summer. Over 60 students from elementary to high school participated in a field trip to Lincoln Woods State Park. The trip included literacy lessons tailored to each student's level and a photography scavenger hunt to explore the park's environment. The program aims to give refugee students experiences in natural spaces and develop their literacy skills, as many have limited access to outdoor activities due to living in urban areas.
