This document summarizes a community workshop held on March 3, 2011 to gather input from residents on planning the future land use and zoning codes for the City of Buffalo, known as the Buffalo Green Code. The workshop was organized by topic areas, beginning with introductions and an overview of the project. City planners then presented information on existing neighborhoods, assets, and challenges. Planners from Camiros explained building blocks or patterns that could be used in the future land use plan. Participants then broke into small groups to identify strengths, weaknesses, and desired changes in their neighborhoods using maps, markers, and dots. The input would help guide the creation of the future land use plan and zoning ordinance over the next few years.
