- 1. Romans 8:9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. www.networkbible.org

- 5. The scriptures are REPLETE with answering the question, ‘How do I get to heaven?’ Your assurance is based on what God has DONE in Christ, God’s PROMISES, and His SPIRIT in you. The Holy Spirit has come to LIVE in you. Some doubt their salvation for what they perceive to be the LACK of spiritual growth.
- 6. We have the Spirit’s INFLUENCE and EMPOWERMENT but you still have a part to play. Sometimes people doubt because of STRUGGLES or because my EXPERIENCE isn’t like your experience. Salvation is not dependent on FEELING saved but having the Spirit of life in you. Comparing experiences becomes a doorway for DOUBT to enter.
- 7. We experience the Spirit DIFFERENTLY, but He is the SAME Spirit we experience. We have received the Spirit of ADOPTION. You are not PASSIVE in Christian growth but neither are you ALONE. Our assurance is based on God’s PROMISE, not your performance; our FAITH, not our feelings; and His SPIRIT, not an experience; centered on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
