LOGIC:
Suppose your chapter is entitled "EARTH SPECIES"-- that along with the chapter label (i.e., "CHAPTER #") is
your level five heading. Within this chapter, you have your material broken down into four subsets:

Utmost importance
1. EARTH SPECIES (level 5 heading)
            Secondary importance
            Wild Animals (level 1 subheading)
            Tame Animals (level 1 subheading)
                         Normal Importance
                         Humans (level 2 subheading)
                         Dogs (level 2 subheading)
                                     Minor Importance
                                     Doberman (level 3 subheading)
                                     Poodle (level 3 subheading)
Minimal Importance-NOT listed in Table of Contents
                                                  Standard (level 4 subheading)
                                                  Toy (level 4 subheading)
In the Table of Contents, the headings will have a pattern of progressive indentation. In the text, the headings will
NOT have this progressive indentation but, using the above example, "Tame Animals" will be formatted the same as
"Wild Animals" (APA style: centered, not underlined, initial caps); "Dogs" will be formatted the same as "Humans"
(APA style: centered, underlined, initial caps;) and both "Dogs" and "Humans" will be formatted differently than
"Doberman" (APA style: at left margin, underlined, initial caps), etc. See APPENDIX D.
