This document discusses the application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) for real-time monitoring of oil and gas facilities in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. It proposes a database abstraction framework using the TinyDB system to effectively store and query data from various sensors and actuators, aimed at detecting incidents such as leaks and vandalism. The paper outlines methods for periodic and event-triggered monitoring, emphasizing the integration of sensor data for improved accuracy in detecting oil pipeline issues.
