- 4. Paul’s life of service • Philippians 1:21f • He mentored Timothy (Acts 16, Philippians 2:20) • Paul mentors Titus (Galatians 2:1-4; 2 Corinthians 7:6, 13- 14; 8:6, 16,23) and sends him to Corinth to deal with tension there. He sent him to isle of Crete to set things in order (Titus 1:4-5)
- 6. Why Paul wanted to live? •Fruitful labor, Paul knew that if he lived on the flesh he was going to sew a seed (Luke 8:11). •He knew he was going to be of service to someone!

- 8. Serve with our words • Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety (heaviness) in a man’s hear weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad. • Proverbs 25:11-13 A word fly spoke is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
- 9. Serve with our words •Proverbs 16:24— Gracious (kind or pleasant) words are like a honeycomb, sweeties to the soul and health to the body (or bones)

True religion • James 1:27- Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. • Visit (Gk. episkeptomai) To look upon or after in order to help or to benefit. To care for, provide for.
- 12. Service rewarded • Matthew 10:42 And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward. (Ref. Matthew 25:37f)
