To Whom It May Concern,
Charlotte Morris worked for the Institute of Modern Languages in a number of roles over a
period of seven years. She had a broad range of responsibilities from EFL teacher to Senior
Tutor and on occasions, Charlotte worked as ADOS.
Charlotte taught a variety of levels from YLEs to CAE, teaching groups of all ages, on an
individual basis and exam focused classes. Apart from being an excellent, all round teacher,
Charlotte has extensive experience in preparing students for the Cambridge English Exams:
YLEs, KET, PET, FCE and CAE on an intensive and non-intensive basis.
As a teacher, she demonstrated excellent skills in a classroom, good language awareness,
strong classroom presence and consistently effective student management. Charlotte has
always been capable of using imaginative classroom activities but ones that are also realistic
and achieve her aims. She is a professional, independent, flexible teacher and an employee
and it’s a pleasure to work with her. As a person, she’s always been unfailingly positive and
both students and colleagues found her friendly, affable manner helpful and reassuring.
Charlotte is a self- motivated, conscientious and hard-working individual and that coupled with
her extensive teaching experience meant that she made an invaluable addition to our team.
Soon after she started working with us, Charlotte was promoted to a Senior Tutor role which
was a natural step for her. Some of her responsibilities included organizing teacher salaries,
assisting DOS, supervising teachers, liaising with publishers, looking after our library and
contributing to the growth and development of IML through her proactive approach and hard-
working nature.
As a senior tutor she was a very supportive and a conscientious colleague who often had to
work under pressure, cover classes at short notice and manage difficult personal and
unexpected issues, which she always handled with diplomacy and tact.
Additionally, she worked as a CELTA administrator at IML and that included processing
applications, updating the website, dealing with accommodation, marketing the course. Again,
she demonstrated her flexibility and competence as an employee in the CELTA department and
she was able to effectively balance these duties with her other responsibilities.
I wholeheartedly recommend Charlotte Morris for any teaching position or teaching related post,
especially one of responsibility and trust. Should the opportunity present itself at some point in
the future, I’d happily employ her again and we are very sad to see her leave.
Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Monika Czernek
Director of Studies
