Having a long shot at the beginning of the music video allows the audience to see the environment where the music video is show and also set the tone of music video. The tone in this particular music video being negative. This is highlighted that the shot apart from showing “Lana”, also shows the negative dark lighting in the background.
- 3. HIGH ANGLE SHOT The high angle shot looking down at “Lana Del Ray” portrays her as being vulnerable. As a result of the high angle shot looking down at “Lana”, it could be interpreted that the shot is trying to evoke vicarious feelings from the audience in the sense that we are seeing her in a vulnerable state. The fact that the high angle shot solely focuses on “Lana”, it can be perceived that the shot is promoting as an artist and also her music.
- 4. ZOOM The zoom shot focusing on “Lana Del Ray” faces shows her facial expression and emotion that she is trying to convey through it. The zoom camera angle is also used for promoting her as an artist. This highlights to the audience that she is the centre of attention. The zoom camera angle also gives the feeling that we are watching her every move and seeing the true her rather than as an artist.
