Long Shot:
I chose this shot because it shows how Alice is alone in Wonderland and how there is
darkness all around her. The Cheshire cat standing in the distance shows how she
feels distanced from everyone else and is alone in this strange place. The long shot
also establishes , how strange Wonderland truly is and how it is entirely different
from the real world.
Low Angle, Wide Shot:
This shot is effective because it shows the audience how the Red Queen dominates over
everyone because she is the biggest entity in the picture. The low angle also helps this as we
as an audience feel as if we are looking up at her and feeling her dominance. The wide angle
shows the Red Queens kingdom and also some of her subjects showing they are distanced
from her.
Extreme Long Shot, Wide Shot:
This shot helps us as an audience, to see that because of the bleak and dark
scenery , and the dilapidated castle that the Red Queen is evil and how it is
the classical fairytale villains castle. Also the light shining through the clouds
could symbolise that soon there will be “a light at the end of the tunnel”.
High Angle, Over the Shoulder Shot:
With the angle of this over the shoulder shot we as an audience get to
understand what Alice is seeing from her point of view. We see how The Red
Queen is still the most dominant in the picture because of the way she has
been edited to seem brighter in the picture.
Low angle:
The low angle shot shows here how Alice is curious about what is down the rabbit
hole. The light surrounding her and fading into darkness as the hole continues shows
how the audience do not know either what is down the hole. This shot also draws us
in as we are interested to know what Alice will do next.
Over The Shoulder, High Angle Shot:
With this shot, we see how The Red queen is again dominant over her subjects
and how her control makes us feel uneasy as an audience. This is because she
is bent towards the character however, her body is facing the screen so we feel
as if her anger is directed at us, as an audience.
Wide Shot, Shallow Focus:
The wide shot here allows the audience to see all of the different
characters. However, the shallow focus shows how Alice is the most
important in this scene and how she is also at the forefront of the scene.
