High Angle Shot:
These kind of shots are used in thrillers to make
the body or object that is being looked down as
completely powerless and vulnerable.
Close up:
Close up’s are used in this type of genre to show
reactions on the actors/actresses face. This is the
shot that can capture the most of character’s
emotions. It is also used to capture detail in an
important scene.
Tracking/Panning Shot:
This shot is a connotation of movement. It is
used very effectively in thriller films to exhibit
that a character is being followed or watched. It
also establishes a scene so the audience can
see the full view.
Tilted Angle:
This shot add a lot of dramatic tension. It can act
as the camera is the victim on the floor, and you
are seeing what they are seeing.
Long Shot:
An excellent shot to establish thriller movies.
This shot could put into perspective how
deserted a place is.
Hand Held:
Used very often in thriller films to add a sense of
reality. It makes the audience feel involved and
adds to the horror of the scene as the audience
can feel like they are there.
Over the shoulder shot:
This is one of the best shots to build tension.
This is used a lot in horrors and thrillers to add
suspense and it is used especially around
reflections so the audience can see what is
happening as soon as the character does.
