In this special edition of RIGHTERS UNTIE MONTHLY we take a look at all the beautiful and talented actors and actresses who bring our stories to life. Okay. I get it. We're all just wishing someone so famous and talented as (Insert Name Here) would play the characters we've written, but it never hurts to dream, right? ...hmm... lawsuits... I didn't think about that... Well, let's just keep it on the down-low that we've got so many of these famous faces attached to our projects without their knowledge or consent. Fair deal? Besides, we cast these actors out of love and appreciation for their many talents - people who can bring words to life with the inflection of their voice, the emotion in their glances, the dramatic and comedic timing unlike any others. No one can say we don't appreciate these people, for we cast them as our "thank you". Robert Downey, Jr. has the ability to be awesome, an all-around kind of guy while also being cocky and hilarious, something Nemo is in spades. There was literally no one else I could picture delivering the dialogue, and doing the small mannerisms that makes Nemo such a darn quirk. It would have been silly, for me, to even consider anyone else to play my most eccentric character.” - Sam Robert Downey Jr. as Agent Nemo The enigmatic Nemo zapped into our lives on Axiom as the eccentric but brilliant time-traveler out for the adventure of a lifetime. And maybe a delicious slice of pie along the way. Lindsey Shaw as Gabby Hester A wide-eyed high school graduate with hopes of becoming a paleontologist on Jurassic Park: the Series, self-determined and snappy Gabby finds unexpected challenges on the island where dinosaurs and humans co-exist. Lindsey’s no stranger to rapping off those witty one-liners while capturing a maturity well above her youthful energy. “Lindsey was the first person I casted for JP. I knew having a kid in the cast was integral to every JP movie, but I wanted to change it up a bit. So I casted someone who’s not quite a kid, but not quite a grown-up either. - 5. “All of Cape Town's characters are loosely based off my own family/friends and their personalities, so when casting for their roles, I would try to picture which actor/actress they remind me of. When my wife (whom Carrie is based off of) and I would watch The Big Bang Theory we would often compare Kaley Cuoco's role as Penny to her. Some examples include her lack of technical savvy compared to me and my friends, but she has great social skills and a lot of knowledge about pop culture. However, she tends to show some geeky traits that mimic Penny on the show. The episode where Penny was surprisingly good the first time she played Halo 3, and proved to be better than Sheldon, had us laughing because she kicked me and my friends ass in Quake the first time she ever played it years ago. So naturally, Kaley would step in perfectly for the role as Carrie (aka my wife)“ - Nick Kaley Cuoco as Carrie Miley Carrie Miley from Cape Town won our hearts from the get-go. She’s a family gal, loving, smart, and downright funny. But series creator Nick says Carrie - played by the ultimate girl- next-door, Kaley Cuoco - holds a particular resemblance to someone special in his life. If that’s the case, Nick, you’re one lucky dog.

- 7. “In some cases, trying to find the correct actors for casting is hard which has lead to changes such as Charlie and Max Carver taking over the Elyis twins and Michael Angarano taking over John Meyer.” Some view casting as a fluid process, open to change. I nag til I turn blue at Johno because there's a tendency for both of us to try and fit a character in round the actor, which is why I didn't like Eve. I used to cast a lot more in S2, where I usually just got an idea of what the character looked like. I knew what Bobbi was going to look like and I made it specific that Verity would be blonde and British, whereas Johno thought her as a brunette. In most cases, the actors come to the parts though, we choose them when they are needed and not trying to fit around.” Johno’s partner in crime weighs in on the expansive casting process on Cherry Hill. Natalia Livingston as Bunny Williams “Natalia kills those dramatic roles, but she’s also so effortlessly sweet and charming, which is exactly the kind of actress you need to play someone so self-absorbed and inappropriate as Bunny. She may be a horrible person… but gosh darn it, she’s just so sweet.” – Blake (Chance Baxter Saved the World) “I had first seen Andrew in Channel 4’s Red Riding Trilogy. The first segment, as a young actor, he portrayed something so strong and emotional (something he also demonstrated in Never Let Me Go and The Social Network) that I knew that's what I wanted for the character Ethan.” - Sam (Cornegie) Andrew Garfield as Ethan Cornegie
- 9. “At the end of Season 1 I knew I would need to cast Jared Johnson's superior. The plan was to have a sophisticated, James-Bond-villain-as-a-Wall-Street- banker type. Then I saw Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds and decided to cast him. The character ended up a little more goofy than he was originally, but also leaned a little more on the scary side as opposed to an unemotional side.” - Indy Christoph Waltz as C.O. Catch Christoph Waltz as the villainous and mysteriously monickered “C.O.” in Point. C.O.’s cool, almost polite, demeanor is an unsettling contrast to the show’s non-stop high-tension thrills. Let’s hope C.O. and Christoph live to stir up trouble for the good guys for ages to come. Catch this German actor opposite Seth Rogen in the comedic superhero flick “The Green Hornet” (coming 2011)

Nathan Fillion as Andrew DeRenne “Back when Providence was Finding Providence and it was written collaboratively, casting DeRenne was one of the bigger debates, but someone (I don't remember who) suggested Nathan Fillion. He fit the role perfectly, especially with his cocky, devil-may-care backstory (which has yet to be written) before he became the troubled man he is. Fillion juggles that line of serious and funny so well, especially in Firefly and on Castle. In fact, just looking at his beautiful, sexy face makes me want to write more Providence and finish the series. Look for it!” - Necktie He’s a god among men, humanity’s last hope, the one we turn to in the face of danger… He’s Nathan Fillion. Scratch that. He’s Andrew DeRenne, the leader of a post-apocalyptic colony on the RUN’s highest reviewed series, Providence. But the strengths between Nathan and Andrew are hardly a stretch. Nathan’s got the true bravado of any natural leader, for this is a man who can do no wrong. Andrew DeRenne was nominated for the Rightee Award Outstanding Male Lead
- 11. “The casting process for Angie was one of the longest for any character on the series; this is because I had a very specific view of who she was, and I debated several actresses before deciding on Claire Holt. To me, she seemed perfect because, like Angie, she came off as having a kind heart but could also portray a total bitch of a character and pull it off wonderfully. Claire pretty much grew on me very quickly after that.” “The story of Kate's casting was very similar to Angie's in the way that I was looking for a very specific type of person to play the role. Jodi Gordon seemed to be the perfect candidate for the role because I was very familiar with her acting and was very aware of her capabilities, so I knew she could portray Kate spectacularly. On first consideration of Jodi, something in my head just screamed 'She's perfect!' so I knew I had my Dr. Simmonds.” Claire Holt as Angie Robinson Jacko’s Process The creator of Golden Beach and Trauma Unit doesn’t take his casting lightly. - 13. Mackenzie Mauzy as Dana de Souza and Anabella-Louise Rae Undeniably one of RU’s hottest commodities, Mackenzie Mauzy holds roles on two of the most acclaimed series. On Cherry Hill she won our hearts as the quick- witted, resilient Dana, who recently returned to town with a snazzy new career (and a hubby to match). On Real Fantasy she plays the snarky and daring, potion-toting thief Anabella. Believe me, the spells she casts are real. “When I cast I mainly look for somebody who looks the part, in terms of both appearance, personality, and even the character's name. When I saw Mackenzie Mauzy I instantly knew that she would be my Anabella. More than that though, she comes across as a very innocent but sassy girl at the same time. I can really imagine Mackenzie hugging a little nug and squealing how cute it is, before turning around and talking some serious sense into somebody.
