CentOS Server Gui Initial Configuration
- 1. 1 CENTOS 8 SERVER INITIAL CONFIGURATION CentOS Apache and Name Server will be on “Virtual Network Adapter 8 (NAT)” and network subnet will be “10.30.30.0/24” In this lab, we are configuring our “CentOS 8” device on “Wmware Workstation Pro 16 (Version 16.2.1 build-18811642)”
- 2. 2 We can configure the Virtual Server with initial configurations. Network adapter should be selected the adapter we are going to use After we executed our new created virtual server, we will choose “Install CentOS Linux 8” (You can either choose “Test This Media and Install CentOS 8” option to see the image is correctly working.
- 3. 3 Note: CentOS server should have an active Internet connection CentOS image will boot and Installation Media will appear on screen. 1) We can configure Keyboard to Turkish Q (We can do this via terminal with “localectl set-keymap” command
- 4. 4 2) We can configure the “Time-Date” as timezone of region. 3) We will configure the “Installation Destination” as which storage disk we will choose that CentOS will be installed.
- 5. 5 4) We will configure the network adapter and hostname (Our network adapter is ens160, we can edit the IP address in terminal via “nmcli” and hostname via “/etc/hosts”)
- 6. 6 5) We will configure a root password. 6) Installation Source will be the “Closest Mirror”
- 7. 7 7) “Software selection” we can choose “Server with GUI”. But to install every services via Terminal, we can leave it blank. After we configure all thing on Installation screen. Now we are able to continue to “Begin Installation”.
- 8. 8 After installation is completed, we will proceed a “Reboot”. Then our installation will be finished. After reboot, we will see the “Licensing Information” and “User Creation” - License box should be clicked.
