The document discusses cervical spondylotic myelopathy, a spinal cord injury caused by compression of the spinal cord from age-related wear and tear changes in the cervical spine. An MRI of the cervical spine showed a disc protrusion at the C3/C4 level that was causing spinal stenosis, narrowing of the spinal canal and pressing on the spinal cord. The MRI also revealed increased fluid signal within the spinal cord without any abnormality in the cord's natural signal, indicating injury from compression.
