This document discusses different types of verbs:
- Finite verbs have a subject and show tense, while non-finite verbs do not depend on subject, person, number or tense.
- Infinitives are non-finite verbs that are often preceded by "to" and can be used like nouns, adjectives or adverbs. Gerunds end in "-ing" and act like verbs but perform the work of nouns.
- Participles are also non-finite verbs - present participles end in "-ing" and act as adjectives, while past participles end in "ed, d, t" and also act as adjectives.
