February 17, 2012 Three Cups of Tea Taylor Cunha 814 Chapter 17- Running from War Greg is keeping the story, Three Cups of Tea, interesting even though he already reached his goal by building the school in Korphe. Greg is accomplishing this by doing more things to help out the people of Korphe. Greg is learning the ways of how the people in Korphe live by going hunting with the men and cooking with the women in the kitchen. Greg is also trying to help the people there become a more advanced society by setting up different buildings or activities for them like a place for the women of the village to sew when they have nothing else to do or in the cold winter. Greg is not only trying to help the village of Korphe but he is trying to find more places to help out, he tried this once already in Waziristan during the time Osama Bin Laden was trying to hurt Americans in Pakistan, but Greg ended up getting kidnapped. Lucky he was not hurt and was released soon after. Greg Mortenson is keeping this book very interesting in a lot of ways, but in my opinion I think it is really interesting to hear and learn about what he is doing with his outside life! Greg Mortenson is moving on with his life in America, he got married to Tara Bishop. Greg and Tara met in San Francisco on September 13, 1995, they got married only six days after. The same year Greg and Tara get married Greg starts working with a company the Central Asia Institute. Greg and Tara had a daughter Amira in the fall of 1996 and Greg starts doing speeches to try and raise money for him and his company the Central Asia Institute to progress in helping out the people of Pakistan and continue building schools and other helpful facilities for them.
