Charles Manson led the "Manson Family" cult in the late 1960s. He convinced members to commit murders, including the notorious 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders. Manson had a troubled childhood and was diagnosed with schizoid and schizotypical personalities. He received life imprisonment for conspiracy to commit the murders even though he didn't directly participate. The case was unusual because Manson hired others to carry out the killings for him.
