- 3. Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University was established in 2014. CRSU is located in Jind, Haryana and it functions under the State Government of Haryana. Earlier the university was known as Kurukshetra University Post Graduate Regional Centre. The university offers various courses across different streams at the Post Graduate level. The University Grants Commission has approved the institution. Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. Moreover, the university has around six schools all over Jind. Additionally, CRSU offers courses at the Under Graduate level through its constituent colleges. Some of the adopted schools under this university include Government Senior Secondary School, Gopal Vidya Mandir Sen.Sec. - 5. After Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University was established, the university offers two courses which were MBA and MCA. However, with time, CRSU was able to expand more and provide education in other streams and levels as well. CRSU now offers 26 courses in various disciplines and levels. They offer courses in Post Graduate, Diploma, and PhD level. Moreover, there is a total of 13 departments in the university. The departments include the Department of Psychology, Music and Dance, Mass Communication, Management, Geography, Economics, English, Computer Science and Applications and Commerce. Additionally, there are various subscriptions to magazines and newspapers. Moreover, CRSU provides database details so that the students can access e-books and e-journals with the help of the internet on campus. The resources are available at all times and the students can access them even after graduating as alumni of the university. Hostel: Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University also offers accommodation facilities for both boys and girls. There are separate buildings for both and a good security system along with hygienic, healthy food. The mess provides food in the morning, afternoon, evening and night. The university organizes many sports events and inter-college fests in the field. Additionally, the students can play basketball, football, cricket, badminton among many others. Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University also has a medical center for the faculty and students. This is especially helpful for the students residing on the campus itself. The nurses are available in the healthcare center all day and the doctor visits the campus often. Moreover, the students or faculty are taken to the hospital in the university ambulance to the nearby hospital if the case is serious. CRSU has established many committees and cells for various purposes. The RTI cell and Research cell helps the students acquire many educational resources and help as well while conducting research studies. The faculty assists the students to explore the outside world and help them work in live projects with an emphasis on experiential learning. - 9. Courses at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University: Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University offers various courses with specializations as well. The university also offers PhD and Diploma courses. A majority of the Post Graduate programs are for a duration of two years. However, MCA is for three years. CRSU offers B.P.ED, the selection criteria for this course is an efficiency test which is a physical test. Additionally, the candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree in any relevant discipline with a 45% aggregate. Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University also offers M.Sc with specializations in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Additionally, the selection criteria for this course is the same as B.P.ED. Moreover, CRSU also offers M.A with specializations in Economics, English and Mass Communication. CRSU offers MBA, however, the eligibility criteria for this course is a qualifying exam in MAT. The candidates are also required to acquire a qualifying score in their Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Additionally, the candidate should also have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with an aggregate of 50%.For PhD courses, the candidates are required to qualify UGC-Net and have a master’s degree from a recognized university.
