Chris Lintott of the University of Oxford gave a presentation on science projects involving millions of people classifying data. One project called Galaxy Zoo had over 100 million galaxy classifications over 10 years. Another project called Planet Hunters found planets by having people examine data from the Kepler space telescope. These citizen science projects are done through the Zooniverse platform and harness the time and effort of volunteers to make scientific discoveries.
