This document provides a summary of key lessons learned from evaluations of Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) programs and projects conducted in 2011-2012. It begins by outlining four main lessons: 1) plan investments with specific outcomes and make adjustments based on changing conditions; 2) collaborate with partners to enrich projects and avoid pitfalls; 3) identify appropriate exit strategies; and 4) focus on the journey, not just the destination. The document then discusses the importance of building resilience and concludes by emphasizing that development is a shared journey that can be improved through learning.
