– will ensure that every pupil in the class
maintains a note book in which the
name of the book read, its author and
a brief account of the content is
recorded.

Practices
• two library periods allotted
• one period exclusively for
reading children’s magazines.
(For this, multiple copies of magazines shall be
procured from the main library)

such as
• story telling,
• read aloud,
• book talks/discussions,
• competitions
– (book review writing,
– reading,
– story telling,
– news reading,
– book jacket/bookmark/poster designing,
– developing a story, etc),

–( book reviews, stage conversations
based on book themes,
dramatizations, puppets),
–awards (best reader of the class),
–exhibitions/displays, preparation of
wall magazines, scrap books, etc

Develop Language Skills
• Introduce the book.
• Tell about the book, but don’t give away the ending!
• Tell about your favourite part of the book or make a
connection.
• Give a recommendation (e.g., If you like..., you will
love this book or I recommend this book to anyone
who likes...).

aware of library, books and reading.

–support the class teachers
