Class procedures
- 2. Welcome 1. Find the desk with your name on it. 2. Lay out your supplies 3. Complete questionnaire. 3. Today’s Special Area is Music
- 4. When you enter Finish breakfast in the hall and wipe your feet before entering the classroom. Do not wait until the lesson begins to get ready for class. Take out iPad and open your Canvas Accout or other app that I have asked you to open. Class begins when you enter the room. Please act accordingly. Take a seat, do not horseplay, do not stand at your friend’s desk.
- 5. Where to turn in work All work must be submitted through Canvas. Most of your work will be completed by hand using your stylus in Notability. If you are turning in late work, points will be deducted. After day three, you will have earned a zero for the assignment. If you do not have internet access at home, download and submit assignments during homeroom or recess.
- 6. Submitting Work in Canvas Log into Canvas. Download document. Click on this icon in the upper right corner. Choose Notability to open the document. Complete the assignment. While in Notability, once you finish your work, click on this icon in the upper left corner. Click Open in another app, click the blue bar ‘Open Note In…’ Click on Canvas, Click on the assignment that you wish to turn in. Click SUBMIT, slide through the documents and choose your assignment and click on it. Click on the blue SUBMIT button at the top of the screen.
- 7. When you when receive graded work… All graded work must be saved in Notability. We will set up folders in notability for each class and each quarter. You will save the work in the appropriate class and quarter folder. Assignments completed on Skyward are immediately posted, otherwise, the grade book is updated by Monday with the previous week’s work.
- 8. Restroom Procedure Use the restroom during class changes, during special area, at lunch, or at recess. Classrooms are restricted to emergencies during class.
- 9. Behavior Management We will be using Class Dojo this year. Your parents may access these reports every day if they wish otherwise they will receive a weekly report from me. Parent codes will be emailed. You will earn or lose points based on behavior. If you exhibit bullying, violence, or defiance you will receive and immediate referral. Winning teams will be allowed to complete work on the ‘patio’.
- 10. Teacher VS. Student Points A teacher vs. class score is kept for the week running Friday through Thursday. When the cumulative class score is in the positive range, computer time, video time or a treat will be provided on Friday. Those students who have individual negative scores will not receive the reward. When I win HW is assigned on Friday, otherwise students do not receive HW over the weekend.
- 11. What to do if you finish early… Work on math facts Complete missing work Work in a math or science games found on my site. Work on that quarter’s extra credit FPS class, practice the FPS web challenge activities found on my site.
- 12. Lunch / Recess Recess 11:45 – 12:15 Football & Soccer – Bonner Kickball – Ruddy Free Play – Stone Recess Detention / Study Hall – Zitka Lunch – Line up with recess group and after lunch with AM teacher.
