- 6. “Cloud” ? • In cloud computing, the word cloud (also phrased as "the cloud") is used as a metaphor for "the Internet," • The phrase cloud computing means "a type of Internet-based computing," where different services— such as servers, storage and applications — are delivered to an organization's computers and devices through the Internet.

Cloud computing is a model for delivering information technology services in which resources are retrieved from the internet through web-based tools and applications, rather than a direct connection to a server

One example of this would be the inclusion of a proxy server. This can act as a ‘bouncer’ between your information and the person(s) wishing to access it.
