Introduction
What is cloud computing?
 Cloud computing refers to the delivery of computing
services over the internet, including storage, servers,
databases, networking, and software.
 It allows users to access resources and
services on-demand, without the need for
physical infrastructure or local servers.
3
4
Cloud Deployment Models
Public Cloud
 Services are provided over a
public network and available to
anyone who wants to use them.
 It is a cost-effective option for
businesses and individuals
looking for scalability and
flexibility.
 Examples of public cloud
providers include AWS,
Microsoft Azure, and GCP.
5
Cloud Deployment Models
Private Cloud
 It is dedicated to a single
organization or entity and may
be located on-premises or off-
premises.
 It offers greater control,
security, and customization as
compared to public cloud
services.
 It is more expensive as
compared to public cloud
services.
6
Cloud Deployment Models
Hybrid Cloud
 It combines both public and
private cloud infrastructures.
 Organizations can leverage the
benefits of both public and
private clouds.
 It is more complex to manage as
compared to a single cloud
environment.
7
Service Models
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
 IaaS provides virtualized computing
resources over the internet.
 Users have control over the
operating systems, data,
middleware, and applications.
 They can provision and manage
virtual machines, storage,
networks, and servers according to
their requirements.
 Examples of IaaS providers include
AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google
Compute Engine.
8
Service Models
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
 PaaS offers a platform for
developing, testing, and deploying
applications over the internet.
 It allows users to focus on
application development without
worrying about infrastructure
management.
 PaaS providers manage the basic
infrastructure, including servers,
storage, and networking.
 Examples of PaaS providers include
Heroku, Google App Engine, and
AWS Elastic Beanstalk. 9
Service Models
Software as a Service (SaaS)
 SaaS delivers software applications
over e internet on a subscription
basis.
 Users can access and use
applications directly through a web
browser.
 Users can’t manage the
infrastructure, platform, or
software as everything is handled
by the provider.
 Examples of SaaS include
Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365,
and Google Workspace. 10
Benefits of Cloud Computing
 Cost Savings
 Scalability
 Flexibility
 Reliability
 Backup and Recovery
11
Disadvantages of Cloud Computing
 Does not work well with low speed connections.
 Security and Privacy
 Vulnerability to attack
 Limited control
 Cost concerns
12
Common Cloud Computing Use Cases
 Data Storage and Backup
 Software Development and Testing
 Web and Mobile Applications
 Big Data Analytics
 Disaster Recovery
13
Conclusion
 Cloud computing has revolutionized the way businesses and
individuals access and utilize computing resources.
 It offers several advantages including cost savings, flexibility, and
increased efficiency.
 Looking towards the future, cloud computing is expected to
continue, grow and evolve, driven by advancements in technology
and increased demand for digital services.
 The rise of 5g networks, edge computing, and artificial intelligence
are expected to further enhance the capabilities of cloud
computing.
