This study investigates the potential of granulated blast furnace slag (GBS) for stabilizing expansive soils to improve flexible pavement design. It outlines the characterization of black cotton soil, tests to evaluate the effectiveness of GBS, and discusses the cost-saving benefits of reducing the need for a capping layer based on increased California Bearing Ratio (CBR) values. The research concludes that the optimal GBS mixture significantly enhances soil properties and reduces swelling, allowing for better pavement performance.
