The Command Channel and the

on Camp Zama are now available in high definition.
Sagamihara Family Housing Area will receive
the HD upgrade at a later dater to be announced.

The listing for these HD channels is forthcoming
and will be announced as soon as it is available.

The HD channels will require viewers
to re-scan the channels on their TVs
in order to view them.

Each TV model has a slightly different
channel-scanning process,
but it can generally be done
by following these steps:

1. Press the “Menu” button on your converter
box, converter box remote, HDTV or HDTV
remote.
2. Go to “Setup” or “Settings.”

3. Go to “Installation,” “System” or “Channels.”
4. Go to “Scan Channels,” “Program Channels,”
“Auto Scan,” “Auto Program” or
“Auto Tuning.”

5. Press “Select,” “Enter” or “OK”
to start the scan.

The channel formerly used for

for broadcasts that are live-streamed,

Guidance on Transition to Heating Season
Due to the forecasted low temperatures
and the budgetary cuts mandated by Congress,
the Directorate of Public Works will provide
intermittent heating through early November 2013.

Heating will be provided based on
the following criteria for five consecutive days:
- 68 degrees or below from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- 55 degrees or below from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Following the intermittent heating period,
DPW will transition into “No Heating/No Cooling”
in order to perform
the necessary preventive maintenance,
checks and services required on the heating systems
throughout U.S. Army Garrison Japan
installations prior to the heating period.

Based on historical weather records,
intermittent heating period is projected to begin
on or around early November.

The EAP is a confidential support service paid
for by the government to assist employees.

The EAP program is designed to:

Provide individuals with confidential referrals
to agencies that can provide assistance
for problems that can affect their performance.
Individual problems can range from emotional,

Local commercial transportation is available (train,
bus).

Guests without reservations may purchase spaceavailable seating. Payment must be made prior to
departure.
Space-available seating is first-come, first-serve.

Passenger (incoming primary) will be required to
fill out an promissory note to include name(s),
unit and contact information.

Official Travel Reimbursement
Reimbursement for bus fee for military/Department
of the Army civilians/Nonappropriated fund personnel
with travel orders will be made through traveler’s
submission of a Travel Voucher
(DD Form 1351, 1351-1, 1351-2, 1351-2C, or 1351-3,
as applicable).


Reimbursement for bus fee for master labor
contract/indirect hire agreement personnel with travel
orders will be made through the submission of
USFJ Form 356EJ.
If person is going to Narita Airport without travel orders:
- Military or DAC travelers will use DTS to request
local travel funds.


If person is going to Narita Airport without travel orders:
- NAF travelers will use DD 1164 for approval and
reimbursement of bus fee.
- MLC travelers will use USFJ 356EJ to request
approval for local travel and bus fee
reimbursement.
Official reimbursement is not issued through MWR.

Residents’ Responsibilities

All Army family housing and unaccompanied
personnel housing residents must notify
the Housing Management Division for absences
from their quarters of seven days or more.

Provide a point of contact for
a responsible sponsor or adult
to perform periodic checks to ensure
the home is safe, secure and free of incidents
and unexpected circumstances,
and maintain the yard as well, if applicable.

In the event you do not assign
a point of contact during your absence,
the Housing Management Division
will contact your organization or agency
to request their support – especially when it comes
to keeping up your yard maintenance.

Reminder of Pet Owners’ Responsibilities
The following list of responsibilities for pet owners
living on Camp Zama, Sagamihara Family
Housing Area and Sagami Depot was released
by the Housing Management Division:
- Sponsors are responsible for cleaning the areas
used by their pets.
- If kept outside, the pet’s area must be policed daily
to prevent a buildup of trash and fecal material.

- Owners must clean up waste left by their pet
during walks.
- Fecal droppings must be disposed of in sealed
plastic bags (preferably double bags) and be
placed in garbage receptacles.
- Un-bagged waste must not be placed in garbage
receptacles.
