As we make everyattempttoimprove ourleadershipskill set,there isone paththatalwaysunderlies
real success. That path isone where leadersare compassionate totheiremployees,guaranteetheir
safetyandprovide anenvironmentthatisbasedon ethical behavior. Atall costswe must be
compassionate toourteam'sneedsandprovide fortheirutmostsafety. Leadersmustwalkthe pathof
theirworkers,understandtheirconcernsandembrace theirconcerns. We have a social andmoral
responsibilityto provide aworkplace thatissafe andergonomic. If we do notaddressthose safety
needs,ourteamwill become disengagedandlessproductive. Ignoringthe productivityside of the
equation,leadershave amoral responsibilitytoprovide acaringenvironmentfortheirteams.
Employeesandtheirfamilieshave the undeniable rightfortheirlovedonestoreturnhome inthe
conditiontheycame toa place of employment. The lackof compassionof thisneedwill undermine
anythingelse the workplace andleaderscanprovide. Thisexpectationtiesintothe needforanethical
as it isonlyethical toprovide thisenvironmenttothe team. Everythingelse aleadercanprovide is
secondary. A leadermustcare fortheirteam andwalkthe processesthatemployees are expectedto
execute. Askquestions,offersolutionsandfollow throughonprovidingresolutionsandyourteamwill
thenprovide the utmostforthe company. Leaderswhositat desksanddo notknow the risksinthe day
to day activitiesof theiremployeeswill fail. Delegationof thisactivityisnotaseffectiveasa leader
walkingandtalkingthe life we expectotherstolive.
