Computer maintenance
 Slow computer
 Keyboard/mouse runs sluggish
 Printer problems
 Peripheral devices problems
 Dirt, dust, hair, food, etc. can get caught
  in the keyboard causing the buttons not
  to work.
 One can turn board upside down and
  shake it or get a can of compressed air .
 If liquid gets in it turn off computer, flip it
  upside down spray with water, and try to
  get all the water out. Leave upside down
  for at least 12hours.
 When roller is
  difficult to use it
  needs cleaned.
 Take the ball out
  and clean out the
  socket.
 Then put back
  together.
 Regular maintenance will extend the life
  of the printer.
 Turn off the printer
    › Get a lint-fee cloth moisten it with 50-50
      water and vinegar (make sure no water get
      inside).
       Never spray aerosol directly onto the printer
   Inkjet and laser printers have different
    steps but steps above apply of both.
 Add RAM to the computer to increase
  speed.
 RAM is installed in the motherboard.
 More RAM is recommended because it is
  data that is not saved so with a lot of it
  your computer will operate faster.
 Ergonomic keyboards are made to be
  more comfortable for someone.
 Wireless keyboards are easier to move
  and take away wires.
 There are wireless, ergonomic, optical
  and combinations of mice.
 Instead of a mouse one can use to
  touchpad.
    › One can use their finger to move the
     pointer.
 Disk fragmentation is when files are not
  stored in contiguous clusters but are
  divided into subparts.
 Disk defragmentation reduces
  fragmentation.
 Reduces seek time.
   Holding area for
    temporarily deleted
    files.
   Last place before
    permanent deletion.
 Small text files that Website uses to
  identify a specific computer.
 Cookies put their-self on your computer.
 NOT dangerous!
 Used to gather information about your
  surfing habits and for targeted
  advertising.
 You can delete them if wanted.
