Rack Power Considerations
• In OECA, under “Rack Generation”, there are four options:
- “X11M (512GB DB)”: rack cabling is optimized for 512GB
- “X11M (1.5TB DB)”: rack cabling is optimized for 1.5TB
- “X11M (2.25TB DB)”: rack cabling is optimized for 2.25TB configurations
- “X11M (3TB DB)”: rack cabling is optimized for 3TB configurations
- For X11M-Z Servers, use the 512GB Rack configuration
• In OECA, under “Database Server Generation”, there are five options:
- “Exadata X11M DB (512G)”: database server with 512GB memory
- “Exadata X11M DB (1.5T)”: ”: database server with 1.5TB memory
- “Exadata X11M DB (2.25T)”: database server with 2.25TB memory
- “Exadata X11M DB (3T)”: database server with 3TB memory
- “Exadata X11M-Z DB”: database server with 768GB or 1.125TB memory
• How does the CPQ/Configurator handle the above?
- It is handled in the background, automatically based on the database server chosen.
There is no option for rack-type in CPQ, as in OECA.
- The Exadata system will ship with the proper rack cabling for the selected database
server

Storage Expansion Configuration
• Start with a base Expansion Rack
• 4x Exadata X11M High Capacity (HC) Storage Servers, or
• 4x Exadata X11M Extreme Flash (EF) Storage Servers
• Add more Exadata X11M Storage Servers (2RU each in size):
• Up to 15x HC Storage Servers
• Up to 15x EF Storage Servers
• Up to 15x X11M-Z HC Storage Servers
• Can mix Extreme Flash, High Capacity, and HC-Z Servers in the
same rack
• Minimums for redundancy apply (2x NR, 3x HR)
• Embedded Hardware
• 2x Cisco Nexus 9336C-FX Switch (leaf)
36-port Managed QSFP28 (100GbE) switch
• 1x Cisco 9348 Switch (management)
• Redundant Power Distribution Units
• Optional Hardware
• 1x Cisco Nexus 9336C-FX2 Switch (spine)
Use OECA available to model performance and environmental metrics

Editor's Notes #4: Compute Capacity
3072 Cores = 16x Database Servers x 96 cores x 2 CPUs
51 TB Memory = 16x Database Servers x 3 TB (24 x 128 GB)
Storage Capacity
1088 Storage Cores = 17x Storage Servers x 32 cores x 2 CPUs
21 TB XRMEM = 17x Storage Servers x 1.25 TB ((24 x 64 GB) - 256GB OS overhead)
2.088 PB NVMe Flash = 17x EF Storage Servers x 4x SFF x 30.72TB
4.488 PB Raw Disk = 17x HC Storage Servers x 12x HDD x 22TB
#5: X11M introduces one-socket 32 cores Database Server for moderate workloads.
Database and Storage Servers both have faster memory DDR5 6400 MT/s
Both types of Database Servers can be mixed and matched with any storage server type
