- #5: MS understands that it’s neither practical or beneficial to move “everything” to the cloud. Strategy is to bring computing resources to your enterprise to extend your capabilities.
- #6: First is at the infrastructure level: Atom bomb of integration Allows use of AD, Windows Authentication, etc. Cons: Security? Overkill?
- #7: More targeted approach: Provides a great environment for running web apps and public facing services. Also a great “DMZ” for connecting with partners. Cons: Dependency on .NET, WCF, IIS, AppFabric No direct line to LOB systems Needs custom code

- #9: Until a few years ago, the model corporate network was this private local network on the Enterprise premises in which you deployed all your Enterprise assets – SQL, Oracle, SAP and other LOB applications, services, desktops, etc. The network was isolated from the Internet and administrators would allow inbound connectivity through the DMZ, with the firewalls and the VPN gateways. Sure Virtualization made the notion of physical infrastructure, more, I don’t know - meta-physical(?) Let’s just call it virtual. As the cost of Cloud Computing spirals down, while providing unprecedented scale, resiliency and raw power to all of us – individuals and businesses, a large number of assets are being deployed to the cloud.
