FADER CODES AND CONVENTIONS • The feature typography for the contents page is as minimalistic as possible, which creates a sense of encouragement to lure the readers to read on • The issue number is the same font as the front cover which is consistent with the magazine and forms a professional touch • The colour scheme of the issue follows the general colours of the cover photo with black and white being the main colours to create consistency throughout the magazine. This is conventional in Fader and is therefore a house style, as Fader tend to stick to a basic colour palette

VIBE CODES AND CONVENTIONS • The main image covers up a large proportion of the contents page which implies the important of the cover artist, this is also a conventional feature for the contents page for Vibe which tend to stick to large and close up images of their cover models • The article title is in bold which contrasts against the dark colours of the main image to make the titles stand out and become more noticeable. It is a convention for the magazine to use opposite colours for titles for this reason • The articles are also centred around the cover artist which suggests that the artists is more important than the articles

This is a common convention among magazines as it stands out in comparison to the smaller articles • The pull quote is also used to attract readers to the featured article as it causes a sense of curiosity about the article and engages them with connotations of a personal relationship between the artist and the reader • The use of lighting creates a large shadow on the wall behind the cover artist which suggests that the artist is powerful and dominant and will attract readers, a long-shot image has been used which is in contrast to the typical close-up shots normally used in front covers
