Layout: The layout of this contents pages follows the conventions that billboard uses for all their contents page. The contents page always uses the column to the left with the logo incorporated into it. The page uses images of different musicians to cover the page and fill in the blank spaces. It The use of numbers gives the page a organized feel to makes the contents page look it, and gives the reader a sense of direction of what is on more organised. each page. This helps them decide if they want to read a certain thing that it is easy to find. The use of the underline and blue colour on some of the text gives a highlighted feel to the text, this makes it look important and gives the reader the idea that the magazine thinks that this section of the magazine is something good or important to look at. The issue number is at the top of the page under the title ‘contents’, it is in small font as it is not as important as the contents of the magazine.
- 2. Top of the Pops- contents page. The layout of this contents page is very simple, it uses bright colours which will grab the attention of the readers as they are quite young. The layout is quite childish as it uses short sentences with simple language. The images are larger then the text to take up more space, but still make the page look simple. The use of the underline and yellow colour on some of the text gives a highlighted feel to the text, this makes it look important and gives the reader the idea that the magazine thinks that this section of the magazine is something good or important to look at. The font is big on this contents page, is also uses large numbers to show the order of the magazine and what’s on each page. This allows the readers to follow and understand the magazine. The colour scheme: they use a lot of colours that can be seen as ‘girly’ such as pink. They use a bright pink which stands out against the white background. The magazine uses boxes to section off the different parts of the magazine. Images of who is in the magazine, this gets the attention of the readers as they will know who they are, and what they do. The magazine uses a well known celebrity to make the reader want to read the magazine.
- 3. We heart pop- contents page They use plugs on this page, they use the same orange colour from the front page, this is used throughout the page. They have continued with the logo/title that they use on the cover- they have done this to make it all link together. They use graphics to create a sort of border around the page, they use the same blue that they use on the cover this acts as a continuation of the cover into this page. It also makes the pager look cleaner and more organized which is a change from the cover that looks chaotic. This contents page uses a lot of images to fill the page, this is done as the magazine is targeted at a younger audience and they might relate to images more then text. This cover has an introduction to the magazine which welcomes the reader and offers them guidance to what is in the magazine. The contents page doesn’t usually use a lot of text but this on includes more then usual. This page is very well organized as it use a numerical system to direct the reader as to what the magazine includes and in what order. Shows the variety of posters available in the magazine, this makes the reader want to buy it as you get freebies of celebrities that they may know of. The layout of the page follows a convention of using columns and having the text and pictures to follow the order they go in. The text of this page is arranged around the main image in the middle, but is still in columns.
