They are visual and audible clues that tell you (an avid media consumer) that what you are watching is a title sequence. In essence, you could describe these as the ingredients needed to make a title sequence.

In groups, use the prompt cards and the post it notes provided to create a giant mind map of the conventions of an opening title sequence.
