Content Box listing Heading is that it jumps to the relevant section and a page can and should be divided into sections so it will be easier for people to read by selecting a relevant section instead of scrolling down. Side bar with settings/preferences/content/suggestions is easier for people to read it in the side so it will be better for people to read it and easier for people to know the link. A reference is written in Wikipedia because they are important to validate writing and inform the reader. External links in an article can be helpful to the reader, but they should be kept minimal, merit able, and directly relevant to the article.
