Image Scrolling
PowerPoint for Mac 2018
0
What is image scrolling?
when images move across the screen in any
direction creating a scrolling effect, similar to credits you
would see in a movie.
When to use it…
you could use this neat effect on an opening or
closing of a PowerPoint slide or as a running footer on the
bottom of any screen.
1
Step 1: Go to google.com
2
Step 2: Click “Images” on the upper right corner of Google “Home” screen
3
Step 3: Pick a topic and search Google Images
4
Step 4: Once you have found an image, copy and paste it
to the slide.
Choose “Copy Image”
5
Right click on mouse over the
image for options
Step 5: Paste your image to the slide
Note: Choose about 5 or more photos to include in your image scroll, copy
and paste them all to one slide (refer to step four and 5).
6
Step 6: Once you have chosen your images, align them by clicking
an image and dragging it to where you want it.
7
Step 8: Align the images, drag images to where you want them, you know
images are aligned when you see the red dotted line between them
8
Step 8: Align the images, drag images to where you want them, you know
images are aligned when you see the red dotted line between them
9
Step 9: Most of your images will not fit in one row at first, begin to align a few.
10
Step 10: Align the remaining photos under the others
11
Step 11: Now, were going to make all the pictures the same size, pick
a height you like from one of the photos and click on it so it is
highlighted.
12
For example, this photo.
Step 12: Go “Picture Format” on the toolbar
13
Reference photo
Step 13: This will give you the height of the highlighted image
14
Reference photo
Step 14: Highlight all
images by clicking in the
gray area and holding
down on the mouse,
dragging the mouse over
all the images
15
Step 15: Your images should now look like this and it will be easier
to adjust the height now
16
Step 16: Go to Picture Format on the toolbar
17
Step 17: This will give you the height of the highlighted image
18
All images should now be the same height and align
neatly
19
Step 18: Like in step 8 align the images, drag images to where you want
them, images are aligned when you see the red dotted line between
them.
20
Step 19: Now that images are aligned, its time to group them, most easily
done by row. Click outside the PowerPoint page and drag the curser over
all the images.
21
Step 20: If the images were highlighted correctly, all
images should be highlighted like this
22
Step 21: With the images still highlighted, locate “Picture Format”
on the tool bar.
23
Step 22: find and click “Group”
24
Now that your photos are grouped they should highlight as
one image and move together.
25
This should be your result
26
Step 23: Now that you have your photo strip grouped, copy and
paste the image once (or more to make it longer).
27
You should now have two photo strips!
28
Step 24: This step is easiest if you make the PowerPoint page smaller,
this bar is at the bottom of the PowerPoint application to the right hand
side.
Move the bar left to right to make the slide bigger or smaller, in this
case smaller is best.
29
Step 26: After minimizing the screen, drag the second photo strip next to the
other, it should look like this.
30
Step 27: Align the two strips, use red dotted line for reference
31
Step 28: To group the two strips, keep your screen minimized, drag your curser
over all the photos, starting in the gray area to ensure all photos get
highlighted.
32
Your entire photo strip should be highlighted and look like this
(two images).
33
Step 29: Regroup the photo strips together, go to
“Picture Format” again on the tool bar
34
Step 30: Click “Group”
35
The two photo strips should now be highlighted and
move as one image.
36
Now its time to make you images scroll
Step 31: On the tool bar, locate “Animations”
37
Step 32: Find your “Fly Out” animation
38
Step 33: Once you choose a animation, “Effect Option” will
become available to use.
o If it will not let you click, it is probably because you have
yet to choose an animation.
39
Step 34: Click “From Right”.
40
Step 35: Still under the “Animations” tab, locate the “Duration”
option where you will choose how fast you image will scroll
(default is 5 seconds).
41
Step 36: click the arrows up or down to make the image scroll
longer or shorter
o Duration “35” is a nice speed
42
Final Product!
