Thank you for your attention
• In Rest-Time Management (RTM) application, GALILEO can be
used for the locating of trucks and parking areas supporting the
management of working hours of truck drivers.
• Through Motorway Parking Availability (MPA) and Urban
Parking Availability (UPA) applications, geolocation service
identifies vehicles and propose near parking locations. Such
applications are used in many European countries as well as in USA.
• Road Works Warning (RWW), Road Hazard Warning
(RHW) and In-vehicle Signage aims to inform drivers for
possibly dangerous events and locations including road works and
restrictions. GALILEO is needed for locating the above incidents
when a vehicle is approaching to such conditions. In addition, Signal
Violation Warning (SVW) warn drivers for the existence of a red
light sign.
V -Traffic is such an application which provide real-time
road and traffic conditions already used in France, Germany, Norway,
Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Poland.
Cooperative ITS services & Galileo
• In Emergency Vehicle Warning (EVW), GALILEO can
contribute to the geolocation of emergency road vehicles in order to
inform drivers so they do not interfere with the emergency response.
• Warning System for Pedestrian (WSP) uses geolocation for the
location of risky situations involving pedestrians (e.g. road crossing)
allowing the possibility to warn vehicle drivers. Such applications
reduce significantly the fatal and serious accidents involving
pedestrians in Great Britain.
• Green Priority (GP) aims to change the traffic signals status when
an emergency or high priority vehicle is detected.
• In GLOSA (Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory) geolocation
detects the vehicles approaching to a signalized intersection providing
to drivers an optimal speed advice.
• Cooperative Traffic Light for VRUS (CTLVRU) is based on the
geolocating of pedestrians aiming to increase their safety through
warranting priority or additional crossing time. Such a cooperative
traffic light system is applied in many European Countries such as
Frankfurt.
• In Flexible Infrastructure (FI) geolocation provide information
about the road lanes.
Cooperative ITS services & Galileo
• Mode & Trip Time Advice (MTTA) takes into account real-time and/
or static multimodal journey information in order to provide a traveller
with a multimodal transport itinerary.
• In Emergency Brake Light (EBL) the driver is warned for possible
rears and collisions of the vehicles above. In similar way Slow or
Stationary Vehicle Warning (SVW) applications inform drivers for
slow or stationary vehicle that impose significant risk.
• Cooperative (Adaptive) Cruise Control (CACC) is an evolution of
ACC that takes into account not only the measurements to derive
the range to the vehicle in front but also the preceding vehicle's
acceleration.
The Dutch Connect & Drive project implemented CACC in
seven Toyota Prius vehicles in 2009–2010.
• Motorcycle Approaching Indication (MAI) application use
geolocation for locating vehicles and motorcycle approaching aiming to
possible crashes.
• Blind Spot Detection/Warning (VRUs) (BSD) is a common
application in vehicles that aim to detect and warn the drivers about other
vehicles of any type located out of sight.

  • 21. • In Rest-Time Management (RTM) application, GALILEO can be used for the locating of trucks and parking areas supporting the management of working hours of truck drivers. • Through Motorway Parking Availability (MPA) and Urban Parking Availability (UPA) applications, geolocation service identifies vehicles and propose near parking locations. Such applications are used in many European countries as well as in USA. • Road Works Warning (RWW), Road Hazard Warning (RHW) and In-vehicle Signage aims to inform drivers for possibly dangerous events and locations including road works and restrictions. GALILEO is needed for locating the above incidents when a vehicle is approaching to such conditions. In addition, Signal Violation Warning (SVW) warn drivers for the existence of a red light sign. V -Traffic is such an application which provide real-time road and traffic conditions already used in France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Poland. Cooperative ITS services & Galileo
  • 22. • In Emergency Vehicle Warning (EVW), GALILEO can contribute to the geolocation of emergency road vehicles in order to inform drivers so they do not interfere with the emergency response. • Warning System for Pedestrian (WSP) uses geolocation for the location of risky situations involving pedestrians (e.g. road crossing) allowing the possibility to warn vehicle drivers. Such applications reduce significantly the fatal and serious accidents involving pedestrians in Great Britain. • Green Priority (GP) aims to change the traffic signals status when an emergency or high priority vehicle is detected. • In GLOSA (Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory) geolocation detects the vehicles approaching to a signalized intersection providing to drivers an optimal speed advice. • Cooperative Traffic Light for VRUS (CTLVRU) is based on the geolocating of pedestrians aiming to increase their safety through warranting priority or additional crossing time. Such a cooperative traffic light system is applied in many European Countries such as Frankfurt. • In Flexible Infrastructure (FI) geolocation provide information about the road lanes.   • 23. • Mode & Trip Time Advice (MTTA) takes into account real-time and/ or static multimodal journey information in order to provide a traveller with a multimodal transport itinerary. • In Emergency Brake Light (EBL) the driver is warned for possible rears and collisions of the vehicles above. In similar way Slow or Stationary Vehicle Warning (SVW) applications inform drivers for slow or stationary vehicle that impose significant risk. • Cooperative (Adaptive) Cruise Control (CACC) is an evolution of ACC that takes into account not only the measurements to derive the range to the vehicle in front but also the preceding vehicle's acceleration. The Dutch Connect & Drive project implemented CACC in seven Toyota Prius vehicles in 2009–2010. • Motorcycle Approaching Indication (MAI) application use geolocation for locating vehicles and motorcycle approaching aiming to possible crashes. • Blind Spot Detection/Warning (VRUs) (BSD) is a common application in vehicles that aim to detect and warn the drivers about other vehicles of any type located out of sight.
