Our values
Thirst for knowledge Say it as it is
Desire to help Coeo United
We constantly strive to deepen our
expertise, through formal learning, peer-
to-peer and self-led development
activities. From those in their first job, to
company directors, everyone at Coeo is
highly motivated to learn
Within Coeo, we actively encourage
everyone to be open and transparent with
customers and with each other. We
believe this helps us to learn from failure
and maintain integrity and allows all
individuals to make a positive contribution
Whether it’s helping a colleague solve a
difficult technical issue, resolving customer
problems before they even know they are
there or finding innovative new ways to do
business, we are all strongly motivated by
the desire to help
We place great value on spending time
together at Coeo. This means working
together with our team or with others
across the business, but also having fun,
learning new things and inviting our
families to share in our success

Editor's Notes

  • #3: Hi everybody and welcome to todays webinar: Beyond SQL Server 2008 End of Life. My name is Chris Kerswell and I am a Pre Sales Engineer here at Redgate in Cambridge. I will be co-hosting todays session with James Boother, Sales and Marketing Director of Coeo. Before we get going, I just wanted to run through a couple of basic housekeeping items for todays webinar - everyone will be on mute throughout the webinar but please do post your questions using the gotowebinar panel and we’ll try to answer as many of them as possible either during or at the end of the session. The session is also being recorded and we will share the recording with you in the next few days.
  • #4: For those of you who don’t know Redgate, we’ve been around for over 18 years and we have over 200,00 customers. We help companies improve the quality and efficiency of their SQL Server database development and deployment processes. SQL Server Central and Simple Talk Hubs are a massive presence in the community, sharing best practices, learnings and helping to solve problems with the database community We walk the DevOps walk. Over 1000 major and minor product releases last year alone, a number which seems to be increasing year on year Our customers range from global corporations – 91 of the Fortune 100 use Redgate tools - to single person shops and everything in between. So that’s enough from me for now, over to you James!
  • #11: diseases such as cholera and plague caused by pollution or bad air 61 instances where deceased persons drink water from Broad Street identified the source of the outbreak as the public water pump on Broad Street local council disable well pump by removing handle common at the time to have a cesspit under homes families had sewage collected and dumped in the Thames The city had widened the street and the cesspit was lost
  • #14: Black boxes in vehicles Multi-car policies Cyber risk
  • #17: Python to shred and query witness statements Evaluate
  • #22: The vast amount of data generated, infinite computational power and storage in the cloud, and machine learning are enabling businesses to do various forms of analytics: Understand what happened thru Descriptive analytics Investigate why something happened through Diagnostic analytics Predict what is likely to happen through Predictive analytics Determine what I should do through Prescriptive analytics
  • #24: Key message: Business intelligence, or BI, has come a long way. During the first two waves of business intelligence, IT professionals and business analysts were the keepers of BI. They made BI accessible and consumable for end users. While this approach still applies to complex business intelligence needs, today there is a new wave. This third wave of BI makes BI available to every kind of user. Talking points: Today we’re going to discuss Power BI, which is a third-wave solution. Power BI enables EVERYONE to collect, analyze, visualize and publish data. This third wave has the potential to expand the reach of analytics to more users than ever before. Existing analytics platforms and tools can be extended, instead of being replaced, by full-featured solutions like Power BI. Power BI directly connects to existing on-premises data, such as Analysis Services tabular models that were created by business analysts in collaboration with IT. Microsoft Excel and the new Power BI Desktop work hand-in-hand with Power BI, publishing reports and models created by business analysts and getting them more easily in the hands of the business users who can gain insight and take action.
