Stage one
 When thinking upon our magazine cover as part of our marketing
campaign, we decided to create our own magazine in order for the
campaign to be more effective in terms of luring in our target
audience. To begin creating our magazine we were to think upon
various masthead names in which would fit our brand and would
attract our target audience. We decided upon naming it ‘INSPIRE’
as we felt that our magazine could act as a motivational tool for all
teenagers. The aim of our magazine is to have the core audience
of teenagers, however have the simple format of ‘Glamour’ in
which is a women's magazine, as we recognise that the majority
of teenagers want to be seen as mature. Therefore, we are having
a simple and sophisticated layout, despite the conventions of teen
magazines in order to lure in as many members of our target
audience as possible. We also thought upon having our cover for
a campaign a health issue as it reflects the themes within our
narrative and is largely relevant to the target audience.
Stage 2
 Once we had decided the ethos and design for
our magazine, we were to pick one of our stills
for the cover. As the person on the main image
conventionally gives direct address in order to
increase the intimacy between the magazine
and the target audience, we chose our still that
did this. We then had to edit the image on
Photoshop, which was very simple as we just
used the eraser tool to erase the background.
Once this was done we added the main image
to a layer on illustrator.
Stage 3
 Once we had our main image, we began to add all the
various conventional facets of a magazine. This included
the masthead, skyline, anchorage text, sell lines,
covermount etc. As ours was a health issue we had the
colour scheme of black, grey and green and used a bold
font in which connoted a medical sense through the
outline of the letter ‘A’. We decided to have our masthead
in black in order for this to be what largely catches the
eye of our target audience, whereas parts of the sell lines
were highlighted in green in order to further illuminate the
important features of our magazine to our target
audience. We also assured that we had our website and
twitter account present as well as a hashtag in order for
our target audience to be able to access our issue from
various social media and other media platforms.
