WRAP is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe and ethical manufacturing around the world through factory certification. It was established in 1998 and certifies factories based on compliance with 12 principles related to labor, health, safety, and environmental standards. The WRAP certification process involves a factory applying, conducting a self-assessment, an independent monitor assessment, WRAP evaluation, and potential certification at silver, gold, or platinum levels for 6 months to 2 years depending on compliance level. WRAP is headquartered in Virginia with additional offices in Hong Kong, China, and Bangladesh.
