The long history of the region,
Bangladesh has a culture that
encompasses elements both old
and new. got its independence on
1971.So,there is a huge influence
of indian culture in Bangladeshi
culture & tradition.But however
Bangladesh also has its rooted
culture.

or doing something that has

for a long time. For example:
dance ,costume ,tips,
celebrations ,games and
others
• Tradition can be created by
individuals
Culture of
Bangladesh
• Bangladesh has a rich, diverse culture
.It's like many cultural tradition of our
country is a happy blending of many
variants ,but now the cultures of foreign
countries are intruding into our culture.
Some cultural program of Bangladesh Is :
• Pohela boishak
• Nobanno
• Halkhata
• Eid-ul-fitr
• Eid-ul-Azha
• International mother language day
• Victory day of Bangladesh
• Music
Pohela Boishak
Pohela boishak is the first day of Bengali new year. In
Bengali, Pohela means ‘first’. Baisakh is the first
month of the Bengali calendar. On this day whole
Bangladesh is in festival mode. A number of delicacies
including ilish maach, dhokar dalna, rice, and chanar
dal are prepared to welcome the New Year.
Nobanno
Halkhata
The Mughals "Halkhata Mahurat"
to collect back taxes and from this
the tradition of Haal Khata.Haal
means updating and Khata means
ledger.A festival which is celebrated
by Bengali shopkeepers and
traders.
Eid ul-Fitr
It is the most important day of Muslim peoples of
Bangladesh. Bangladesh govt declares the holiday
three days for Eid ul-fitr. Now it become a part of the
culture of Bangladesh.
Eid ul-Azha
Eid ul-Azha or Bakri eid is the second most important religious
festival in Bangladesh. The only big difference is the Kurbani or
sacrifice of domestic animals(usually cows, goats, and sheep). In
the morning on the Eid day, immediately after the prayer, affluent
people thank God for the animal and then sacrifice it. They
distribute the meets to their relatives and poor people.
International Mother Language Day
On 17 November 1999 UNESCO announced 21 February is the
international mother language day. And it is world wise annual
observance .On this day everyone pays homage to the
martyrs with flowers at the shaheed miner.
Victory day of Bangladesh
Victory day is a national holiday in
Bangladesh.it is celebrated on
December 16 every year .After 9
month of liberation war Bangladesh
become independent on 16th
December 1991.
Music
Music in Bangladesh can be divided into
three distinct categories
• classical
• folk
• Modern
The classical music, both vocal and
instrumental is rooted in the remote past
of the sub-continent. Ustad Alauddin
Khan and Ustad Ayet Ali Khan are two
names in classical instrumental music
Folk Music
• Folk music has a great variety,
with songs being composed on
the culture, festivals, views of
life, natural beauty, rivers and
rural life.
Tradition of Bangladesh
Tradition is the way of thinking ,behaving or doing
something that has been used by the people in a particular
group ,family ,society for a long time. Bangladeshi tradition
is related to Bangladeshi culture. Some Traditional events
of Bangladesh is:
• Traditional foods.
• Traditional Dresses.
• Traditional musical instruments.
• Traditional putul nach.
• Traditional folk Dance.
• Traditional Sports.
Traditional Food
Rice is the main Bangladeshi food. Rice, fish is the
most common traditional Bangladeshi food for
general people. Bangladesh is also famous for its
desserts. You will find dozens of sweets, rice cakes,
rice puddings, and many other desserts in
Bangladesh, mostly made from rice and cow milk.
Traditional dresses
Shari is the main and traditional dress of
Bangladeshi women also and some young
female also wears salwar kameez. Men also
wear traditional costumes such as the kurta.
Lungi As casual wear in rural areas and shirt-
pant or suits on formal occasions.

Traditional putul nach
”Putul nach” is a part of the
country’s folk culture and the
tradition of puppetry in
Bangladesh dates back at least a
thousand years, it is now very
rarely seen to be performed
except in some occasional fairs
in the rural areas.
Folk Dance
Among the tribal dances,
particularly popular are
Monipuri and Santal. Bangla
songs like jari and shari are
presented accompanied with
dance of both male and
female performers. Rural girls
are in the habit of dancing
that does not require any
grammar or regulations
Traditional Sports Of Bangladesh
Sports in Bangladesh is a Popular Form Of Entertainment
Essential part of Bangladesi Culture.They are Many Kinds Of
Traditional Sports in Bangladesh such as Ha-du-du,Boat
racing,kanamachi,slow cycling ,Boli khela ,Kusti-khela
dariabandha, gollachut, satchara, borofpani, birinchi,
kutkut, , tillo, Sologuti, Bagh-chagol,Ful-toka and other etc.
Ha-du-du
• In Bangladesh,there is
Variationof kabaddi is called
Ha-du-du.This game is the
national sports of
Bangladesh.
Kanamachi
Boat Racing
Boat Racing or Rowing sport
of Bangladesh. All
participants participate for
their gifts. In this
participant's people uses
traditional Bangladeshi
boats known as ”Nouka”.
Slow-Cycling
Slow –Cycling is one of the
traditional Game in
Bangladesh.
Kusti-kela
Kusti khela (wrestling) is a
traditional sport in Bangladesh,
especially in Chattogram
division. It is The Most
Traditional Sports in rural Of
Bangladesh.
Conclusion
A free and strong cultural sector will promote other rights and values such as freedom of
expression, diversity and debate about needs in society. Traditions represent a critical
piece of our culture. They help form the structure and foundation of our families and our
society. They remind us that we are part of a history that defines our past, shapes who
we are today and who we are likely to become. So, we should be careful and try to
uphold our own cultures and traditions to the world.
