- 2. 4.0 WORKING EXPERIENCE: ORGANIZATION YEAR POSITION HELD 3.1 Sustainable Districts Project January 2016 Education Coordinator To Date Project Description Sustainable Districts Project is a continuation of the Millennium Villages Project implemented in Kaduna from 2006-2015 with support from the UNDP and the Government of Japan. The Project aims at ensuring the benefits of the MVP are sustained or even improved. It is multi-sectoral Project covering education, health, agriculture and infrastructure. It is based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) coordinated by the Millennium Promise USA. Client Government of Japan/Millennium Promise US Key Responsibilities Leading the Education Sector of the Project; Promotes provision of quality teaching in schools; Campaigning for girl-child education among rural communities; Implementing the Connect-to-Learn 3 years scholarship for girls education across the project sites; Institutionalization of community education work using community education volunteers; Supporting children to complete schools; Establishing and supporting adult education classes; supporting LGEAs in schools monitoring; -Working with the LGEAs, Providing technical and operational support to Strengthen activities of PTAs/SBMCs; Facilitating and Coordinating teachers capacity development trainings aimed at enhancing their pedagogical skills and experiences; Establishing and strengthening collaborations between the Project and the Government relevant agencies and ensuring proper alignment of project educational activities with the government education policy and existing government-supported education programs; 3.2 Millennium Village Project September 2013 Project Education Specialist (Pampaida Site, Nigeria) Project Description Millennium Villages Project is a development project aimed at achieving the 8 MDGs in rural settlements of Africa in the areas of Basic Education, Health and Agriculture. Millennium Village sites are located in 10 countries across sub-Saharan Africa including Nigeria. The Project is mainly funded by the Millennium Promise and the Government of Japan with counter funding from the Federal and States Governments. Millennium Promise provides the operational leadership for the Project, while the Earth Institute at Columbia University provides the science and policy leadership, with the human resources managed by the United Nation’s Office of project System (UNOPS). In Nigeria the Project is hosted by the Kaduna State Government with its head office located in Zaria Client Government of Japan/Millennium Promise US Key Responsibilities Led the Education Sector of Nigeria Millennium Villages Project (MVP); Coordinated the monitoring and evaluation activities of the education sector of the project including the design and development of data collection tools, data collection, data analysis and report compilation for dissemination with stakeholders; Managed the 1st phase if the Connect-to-Learn
- 3. scholarship for girls education across the project sites; Worked with the LGEAs, religious and community based organizations to support advocacies and community mobilization campaigns to rural communities on girl-child education which addressed gender educational imbalance across the project sites; Coordinated the development of local instructional/reading materials for early primary grades; Coordinated schools’ enrollment enhancement campaigns in project sites to increase appropriate age school enrollment; Provided technical and operational support to PTAs/SBMCs; Facilitated teachers capacity development trainings aimed at enhancing their pedagogical skills and experiences. 3.3 UNICEF Led TDNA March 2013 Research Team Leader (Katsina State, Nigeria) Project Description It is a UNICEF led Teacher Development need Assessment exercise, aimed at assessing teacher development needs in five UNICEF Girls Education Project (Niger, Bauchi, Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto States). The main objective of the exercise is to examine the gaps of teaching professional knowledge of Primary and Junior Secondary Schools’ teachers and help UNICEF and Nigerian Government to identify key areas where teachers need support. Coordinated the conduct of the study in Katsina State involving training and supervision of enumeration, data collation and report writing. Client UNICEF and the Federal Government of Nigeria Key Responsibilities Led and coordinated Katsina State enumeration team for Katsina State; Served as a link person between the UNICEF; Worked with Katsina State SUBEB and all the LGEAs across the state; Compiled the state data and actively participated in the national data analysis; Participated actively in the national compilation and harmonization of survey data; Collection/assessment instruments and the enumeration manuals; Trained of Katsina State enumeration team members on the exercise; Coordinated enumeration work in Katsina State; Supervised instruments marking and data entry; Prepared and submitted final report to UNICEF office 3.4 UNICON Research Supervisor (Labour Market Studies and Entrepreneurship Advisory Consultancy Services) Project Description Labour Market Studies and Entrepreneurship Advisory Consultancy Services was a consultancy services carried out by the UNICON for the African Bank Skills Training and Vocational Education Project (STVEP) The study was conducted to determine the needed skills in the Nigerian labour market and identify gaps needed to be filled to address lack of employment among the Nigerian graduates. The study was conducted in ten locations/ States (Kano, Kaduna, Enugu, Lagos, Portharcourt, Maiduguri, Uyo, Akwa-ibom, Abuja, Calabar and Ondo) Client UNICON/AfDB Assisted Skills Training and vocational Education Project Key Responsibilities Participated in the selection and training of enumerators across the four (4) Locations/states in northern Nigeria; Monitored the data collection and compilation for the client; Participated fully in data analysis and report writing
- 4. 3.5 Independent Monitoring and Oct-Dec 2012 National M&E Expert Evaluation Project (IMEP) Project Description The Independent Monitoring and Evaluation Project (IMEP) is a 5 year project involving the provision of monitoring and evaluation services to the U.K government's Department for International Development (DFID) in relation to a suite of 5 large Governance-support Programmes (the 'State Level Projects'). IMEP is delivered by a consortium of consultancy companies led by Ecorys of the Netherlands. The projects covered are: State Partners for Accountability Responsiveness and Capability (SPARC); State Accountability and Voice Initiative (SAVI); Education Sector Support Programme in Nigeria (ESSPIN); Partnership for Transforming Health Systems (Phase 2) (PATHS2); Growth & Employment in States (GEMS) (selected sub-components only). Client UK Department for International Development (DFID) Key Responsibilities Worked with the international consultant to plan for 3 M&E Capacity Building workshops and dissemination events for the National Planning Commission Abuja, Lagos State Government and two other states to be identified. Participated in the review of quarterly and annual progress reports of the five states level programmes (SLPs) with a view to standardizing them to meet DFID reporting requirements. Worked with the SLPs (SAVI and ESSPIN) review team members to review SAVI and ESSPIN projects. Reviewed IMEP annual and projects reviews reports. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3.6 ADB-FME Skills Training and December 2008 Monitoring and Evaluation Vocational Education Project to date Specialist Project Description provision of educational infrastructure, equipments and materials and capacity building trainings tor teachers/ instructors, schools administrators and educational managers in some (10) selected vocational and technical training institutions across the federation and strengthening of developed gender policy in VTE and labour market and entrepreneurship studies across the country. The project is being financed by the African development bank (ADB) and implemented by the Federal Ministry of Education. Client Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Education Key responsibilities Participated in the conduct of needs assessment exercises and for project interventions institutions to determine areas of priority; Participated in the development of tools for baseline data collection and adminisetring them in project benefiting institutions; Responsible for planning and implementation of M&E activities for the project; Managing the project monitoring and evaluation database and disseminating M&E findings to ADB, FME and other relevant stakeholder groups; Collection, analysis and compilation of M&E data on the project implementation and performance as obtained from the (10) benefitting

Financed by the EU and implemented by the Federal ministry of Water Resources. Client Federal Ministry of Water Resources Key Responsibilties Team Leader for Monitoring &Evaluation consultancy services in an EU finance programme titled Nigerian National Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Programme implemented by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources carried out in Adamawa, Ekiti and Delta states. My job description then was the implementation of a participatory M&E which involved working with the client and the programme benefitting communities to develop key performance indicators, designing the data collection tools, supervised the data collection and analysis done by the LGAs and states M&E officers. Others included facilitation of M&E workshops and trainings at states, and federal levels aimed at building the capacity of the M&E officers. During such workshops and trainings, I designed and developed training manuals that were used. My jobs also included making presentations at consultants-clients meeting on the M&E findings based on the reports prepared during the period of the assignment.
