- 2. Page 2 REASEARCH PROJECTS M.TECH PROJECT 05/2015-2016 Effect of allelic differences on stochastic gene expression. Guided by Dr. Biplab Bose, Associate Professor, BSBE Department, IIT Guwahati. In this project I am working on a gene regulatory network to understand how allelic differences, rate of transition of promoter (switching on/off) of an allele and other parameter can affect gene expression kinetics of a cell. (In progress). B.TECH PROJECT 07/2013-05/2014 An attempt to develop Curcumin Nanoparticle using Calcium Carbonate treatment: Preparation, Characterization and its Antimicrobial activity. Guided by Dr. Anil Kumar, Professor and Head MBGE Department, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar. In this project, I worked on synthesis of Curcumin nanoparticles by treating Curcuma longa rhizome with calcium carbonate and its antibacterial activity was checked over bacteria: E.coli, Aeromonas Hydrophilla , A. Salmonicida and B. Subtilis.. To evaluate the effect caused by curcumin nanoparticle on antimicrobial activity, it was compared against the untreated extracts of Curcuma longa. TRAINING PROJECT 05/07/2013-31/07/2014 Role of Microorganism in Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery(MEOR) and Water Injection and their Control. Guided by Mr. Ashok kumar, ONGC Academy KDMIPE campus, Dehradun. Anaerobic culture of microorganism for production of metabolic product that includes bio surfactants, acid , solvents, gases, and enzymes which modify the properties of interaction between oil, water, and the porous media, which increase the mobility of oil and consequently the recovery of oil. RESEARCH SKILLS Microbiology techniques - E.coli competent cell preparation and transformation. Molecular biology techniques - Plasmid isolation, Restriction digestion, Ligation and transformation, Agarose gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, PCR, HPLC.
