David Sims and his wife June started their oyster farming business in Coffin Bay after returning from overseas, seeing it as an opportunity to live and work in David's hometown. They were able to secure their own area of water to begin as a family business. David enjoys the lifestyle of oyster farming and being able to monitor their small farm daily. The isolated location surrounded by national park allows them to observe wildlife while working and take pride in providing quality oysters.

Eventually we were able to secure our own patch of water to begin the family business. It’s the lifestyle that has kept us in the game ever since! We have kept our farm small enough to monitor the stock every day. Along the way we have gained a great deal of experience and knowledge of the local marine environment. To give you an idea of how isolated our growing area is - we can only see one house from our farm! We are incredibly fortunate to live in a unique, natural and unpolluted part of the word. Being surrounded by National Park means we are constantly observing marine wildlife including dolphins, seals and penguins.
