THE WORD “PERCENT” COMES FROM THE
WORDS    “PER CENT”, MEANING OUT OF 100
A penny is     of a dollar because a dollar bre
down into 100 pennies. $1.00 = 100 x .01 or 1%
TWO WAYS WE CAN FIND THE PERCENT OF A
FRACTIONS…
WHENEVER WE BREAK SOMETHING INTO 100
PARTS, YOU GET 1% OF THE WHOLE



              Step 1.   50 ÷ 100 =.50
     = 50%
              Step 2.   25 x .5 = 50
DIVIDE THE DENOMINATOR INTO THE
NUMERATOR…




            25 ÷ 50 = .50 .
