This document provides an overview of conducting a goal analysis. It defines goal analysis as the technique used to analyze a goal to identify the sequence of operations and decisions required to achieve it. The document outlines the two steps of goal analysis according to Dick and Carey: 1) Classifying the goal statement according to the type of learning that will occur, which can be verbal information, intellectual skills, psychomotor skills, or attitudes. 2) Identifying and sequencing the major steps required to perform the goal. It provides examples and definitions for each of the different domains of learning.
